Christopher Welch Chairman

Christopher Welch holds a MSc in International Business Management, and a BSc (Hons) in Geology from University College London, and an Advanced Certificate in Economics from Birkbeck University. Before joining Ocean Equities, Christopher spent four years with Bloomsbury Minerals Economics as a copper analyst, prior to which he worked as a geologist at a diamond mine in Lesotho.

Carl Noack Deputy Chairman and Treasurer

Carl is currently VP - Investments at Altus Capital. He previously was the Business Development Manager for AIM listed Avocet Mining PLC. After graduating from the University of Queensland, Australia with a mining engineering degree he began his career working on various mine sites throughout Australia. Using his post-graduate qualifications in finance he continued his career with a respected consultancy before joining Avocet in 2006. Carl has experience in both commercial and technical roles within the resources industry.

Currently working for Buchanan Communications, Louise is a specialist in the financial public relations and investor relations of natural resource companies having worked in the sector for the past 7 years. Louise is responsible for membership and all administrative needs of the AMA.

Tim Dudley

Tim Dudley a mining analyst currently working with Collins Stewart Hawkpoint. Prior to moving into mining finance in London in 2006, Tim worked for 7 years as a mining engineer across a number of operational, project and technical roles in the mining industry, primarily in Australia within Anglo American's Coal Division.  He holds a Bachelor of Engineering (Mining) and a Masters of Professional Accountancy.

John McGloin

John is Executive Chairman of Amara Mining Plc. He joined the Group on 3 April 2012 as an Executive Director.  A geologist and graduate of Camborne School of Mines, Mr McGloin worked for many years in Africa within the mining industry before moving into consultancy. Mr McGloin joined Arbuthnot Banking Group following 4 years at Evolution Securities as their mining analyst. Over the years, Mr McGloin has acted for many mining companies including African Platinum, Randgold Resources, Avocet Mining, European Goldfields and Titanium Resources Group. His most recent position was Head of Mining at Collins Stewart which he held from July 2010 to the time he joined Amara Mining.

Matthew Tyler

Matthew has more than 25 years’ experience and has worked on numerous transactions of all sizes, including IPOs, M&A and secondary fund raisings. He has given strategic advice to a diversity of companies in the sector and has knowledge of a broad range of commodities, particularly precious and base metals. He is also a member and former Deputy Chairman of the Association of Mining Analysts. Prior to joining the financial communications industry Matthew worked in corporate broking and specialist equity sales for a number of leading investment banks and was ranked the No. 1 Mining specialist salesperson in the London EXTEL survey for a number of years.

Euan Worthington

Euan is Chairman of Diamondcorp PLC and Chairman of African Eagle Resources plc. He has 18 years experience in the City of London as a mining analyst and mining corporate finance specialist, during which time he participated, as team leader or mining advisor, in numerous major corporate finance projects including the 1993 sale of Anglo American`s international assets to Minorco; the de-merger of Union Miniere from Societe Generale; the privatisations of Outokumpu, Austria Metall and Cerro Matoso and the acquisition of Billiton from Shell by Gencor. Euan holds MSc in Mineral Production Management from the Royal School of Mines.

Cordelia Orr-Ewing Committee Assistant

Cordelia graduated from Exeter University in June 2009 and joined Mirabaud Securities, the broking arm of the Swiss private bank, where she supported the Corporate Broking and Natural Resources teams. Subsequent to that, she joined Williams de Broe, a well established private client stockbroker, where she was involved in assessing client / transaction suitability. Cordelia joined Strand Hanson, in June 2010, as a analyst within the corporate finance team.
